Praying For Our Pastors!  In recognition of National Pastor Appreciation Day (Oct. 10) let us lift up the men that nourish us spiritually.  Following is a list of general requests and below that is a listing of each Pastor by name and congregation so that you may pray specifically for them.

Please pray that God:

* Bless this Pastor, his family, and his ministry

* Prepares this Pastor’s heart and mind daily to delight in the Word, be refreshed and be rested, and that he has the desire to continually search for truth

* Help this Pastor to balance his time for service with his time with his family

* Guide this Pastor to shepherd his flock faithfully and give God the glory

* Bless the loving wife that supports this Pastor and cares for him so he may be encouraged and strengthened

* Encourage the men serving as Overseers, Deacons, Elders, and leaders within the body – that they may help this Pastor with shepherding and caring for the flock

* Show the people in the congregation ways that they may also serve this Pastor and Leadership Team in ways that alleviate the burden of serving many

* Bring people to this Pastor to hear the truth and have the opportunity to grow in their faith and be cared for within the body of Christ

We have been in prayer this week for Karen Perrott (Joe’s wife) who is recovering from a total knee replacement.  Joe just let me know that yesterday Karen’s father passed away.  Please be in prayer for this family during this time.  Thank you.  I will update as I receive word.

Individual Needs:

Bryan  (Dustin’s Friend) -was the driver in a car accident that involved contact with a pedestrian (child).  The last update received was that the child was going to make a full recovery but still in serious condition.  Please keep both of these families and all involved in your prayers and I will update as soon as I have more information.

Karen – (Joe Perrott) Please pray for Joe’s wife as she had a total knee replacement last week and is still recovering.  Pray that her pain is reduced and that Joe is able to encourage her and help her through her rehab.  I will get an update as soon as possible.

Steve (AD70.net) – “Saints, I have some really impactful news for you – they told us a while back that our job functions here at my company are being transferred to our corp. HDQ in Charlotte, NC – I didn’t think they’d be moving anyone there, and they definitely aren’t.   I thought I would POSSIBLY be laid off in the spring of 2011 – and there was hope that they could discover it wasn’t feasible before that time, and cancel the whole thing.  Not to be –  I very recently got the rug pulled out from under me so to speak . . . my immediate supervisor informed me that they are coming in just over 2 weeks to learn how to take over my main job function.  Immediately – no running parallel for a few months, no – just taking it over.  Don’t know how they are going to do that, but long story short, my future is very much up in the air.  My time here could be very short, and not only that, this will very possibly affect the ministry at the DMV on Monday mornings. So please pray.   Most of you I sent this to know that I am the sole provider for my family, and our son has just started college, so the timing is not good. I would be humbled if you would keep my situation in prayer. Steve”

Priscilla – (Karen’s Aunt) Please pray for Karen White’s (Prayer Warrior) Aunt – Priscilla who lives in Adelaide, South Australia.  She is 69yrs old and undergoing a hip replacement today (Not sure with the time difference…) and then will be in a rehab facility for approx 8 weeks. She has allergies which could be detrimental to her recover.  She also is very isolated geographically from her family and will be out of touch during her rehab. Pray for wisdom and steady hands for the surgeons and staff and that her recovery is not complicated by her allergies. Pray also for the extended family as they will be out of touch and worried about her.  UPDATE:  My Aunt was out of hospital in four weeks, instead of six.  She still needs help at home getting around, and at the moment there are some support people coming in to help her.  She will need about 8 weeks physio to get completely back on her feet.  She has had a little pain in her back, but other than that is doing great.  She asked that I pass on her thanks to all who were praying for her, as she believes this is what helped her recover so quickly, especially considering her age. Gloria’s Family (Gloria – Prayer Warrior) - UPDATE:  “Remember my aunts daughter (Jeanne – c/August requests) we were praying for, the breast cancer, then I told the list it wasn’t, it was just calcium, well now, another daughter is in the hospital, we thought, she had a stone in her gallbladder and they were going to take it out and it turns out to be either pancreatic cancer, or bile duct cancer. That is the same mother who had her breast removed from cancer and while fighting for her life, her husband dropped dead from a heart attack. This family needs our prayers, so please, put it on the list. I’m very close to them and I am just sick about this. Gloria”  Please keep Gloria, her cousins and aunt in your prayers.  I will get an update as quickly as I can.

Fulfilled Covenant Fellowship (Pastor James Murray)  – This is a fellowship group (Mullica Hills, NJ) that we have prayed for before and are so pleased that we were able to meet two members (Carol & George) at the New Covenant Eyes Conference last week!  Here is an update on the needs of this fellowship! UPDATE: “Thank you for the prayers and the encouragement! Our prayer request now is our landlord would permit us to move the time our church meets from 2:20pm to 10:00am. The building is not in use on Sundays at all, so it shouldn’t be a problem, BUT he hasn’t gotten back to us as of yet. We are trying to be more accommodating to the norms of our society. 99% of churches meet between 10 and 11 am on Sundays. Also, we are looking for a worship leader. Thank you again, Prayer changes things (especially us, Amen?) Jim”

Fulfilled Prophecy Seminar – Ed Stevens. September 17-18 – Covenant Bible Fellowship Church in Garrettsville, Ohio. Theme: What About The Rapture?   The first speech surveys the NT texts which reveal what the first century church expected to see, hear, and experience at the Parousia. Next is a lesson on what the Old Testament says about the Rapture. The third presentation explains how the Rapture occurred (cosmologically) in relation to both the SEEN and UNSEEN realms. The fourth lesson pinpoints the date of the rapture and shows where it fits in the sequence of endtime events. The final lesson discusses the implications of the Rapture for the Church beyond AD 70.
